Reminiscent of the original artesian wells of the Las Vegas valley, a 30-foot
steel tower marks the entrance to the 100,000 square foot central offices of
the water district. In addition to providing shade to interior offices,
the curved walls on the west elevation cast ever-changing shadows of the desert
sun - the other prominent natural feature that has shaped the valley. The
structure utilizes steel framing and CMU shear walls to resist lateral loads.
