For 20 years, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has presented
the “New American Home” - a tribute to residential design innovation.
In early 2003, this showcase home will host thousands of visitors in conjunction
with the national convention in Las Vegas. Due to existing topography,
this 6-unit condominium steps over a 12’-0” retaining wall and allows
for 4-story construction. The lateral loads are distributed to the foundation
via a complex geometry of shear walls and transfer beams.
